I went to San Francisco in August 2022, partially for work and partially to do flowers for a friends lovely, intimate, and quintessential Bay-Area wedding! The two tied the knot at the San Francisco City Hall (an absolutely stunning venue!), followed by a party at El Rio, a staple in the queer bar scene. Had you been there at the right time, you'd have seen me singing sad love songs at their heartbreak-themed karaoke nights, hah!
Family and friends charmingly contributed to the event. The bride and her mom spent months creating ceiling streamers to accompany the dance floor disco ball, which her brother-in-law and fiancé helped install (following the installation manual created by hand, which we love--nothing says Type A bride thriving like seeing her correct and watch every detail of the installation process. It turned out very fun!) Her mom and friends created desserts, the star of the show--which I had seconds of--strawberry tres leche cake with curtain piping. Chefs Kiss.
What I'm really here to share with you is the wedding flowers, which I did along with help of my sous chef for the day, one of the brides' good friends.
For the wedding bouquet, the bride wanted something small and simple. Blush tones and soft greens complimented the pale blush tone of her dress and her bride's chocolate suit. Soft and warm tones--loved it!
For the post-wedding party flower inspiration, imagine a dutch flower masterpiece painting; not traditional at all, bursting with colors, and a very free, loose feeling. Blue, peach, reds, yellow, rust, burgundy playing together.
